In 2009, Tom Bisel opened a retail store called ?Fit to be Tri?d? in downtown Northfield, MN. Tom?s vision was to provide superior and personal service; specialize in carefully selected, quality products; and share his knowledge and passion for everything triathlon. Over time, Tom began to offer used bikes and bike repair service, and saw steady growth in the cycling-related aspects of the business.

In 2011, the store moved into the old Tiny?s building, and Tom began to offer new bikes as well, while continuing to grow the repair business. Within a few years, the store had changed focus and become a full service bike shop, and in 2015 the name was officially changed to ?Downtown Bicycles.?

Downtown Bicycles offers a wide variety of new bikes, including Trek, Cannondale, and Electra brands. Used bikes and kids? bikes are also available. One of our favorite things is matching up a customer to the bike that they find the most comfortable and fun to ride, and best fits their needs. We want you to love your bike, and love riding it! We also offer a large variety of bike accessories. You can trust that the products carried at our store are not garden-variety items found at ?big box? retailers. At Downtown Bicycles, you will find items made by smaller companies that value excellent quality and customer service, and also invest in research to provide the best cycling products available.
