GOLF TOURNAMENT SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES RETURNS TO SOUTHVIEW WITH PROACT GOLF CLASSIC AUGUST 28
Annual event in West St. Paul sponsored by area businesses supports transportation for work and life skills programming that impacts many in Dakota County
A 40-year tradition of fine golf and supporting people with disabilities continues on August 28, when the ProAct Golf Classic returns to Southview Country Club in West St. Paul for a fine day of team tournament play.
The 18-hole event brings players to a par 71 course known for its narrow and undulating fairways, subtle greens and close trees. “Our supporters have really enjoyed this venue, the food is excellent and people with disabilities truly need our support,” said Steven Ditschler, president and CEO of ProAct. The Golf Classic is ProAct’s only annual fundraising event.
The foursome scramble start tournament features skill contests, team prizes and group photos. It begins with registration from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m., with an early lunch starting at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12 p.m. A live auction, raffle and gourmet dinner will follow the game.
The cost is $150 per golfer, which includes lunch and dinner, a golf cart, use of the clubhouse and practice facilities. A portion of the tournament golf cost is tax-deductible. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available. The price for the dinner alone is $35. To register, go to proactinc.org or contact Sheena Henry at 651-289-3149 or shenry@proactinc.org
With facilities in Eagan, Red Wing, Zumbrota and Hudson, Wis., ProAct is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit corporation which has served the needs of people with disabilities for more than 40 years.
